About Ag Press – A Kansas Based Full-Service Commercial Printer

Company History

Ag Press was created in 1954 by Dean Coughenour when he established Grass & Grain, an agricultural newspaper which serves Kansas and sections of Missouri and Nebraska. Publishing and distributing the newspaper opened up other opportunities, and the business has evolved into the full-service printing firm it is today.

Perhaps the discipline needed to meet newspaper deadlines led to what many of our customers believe is the company’s greatest strength: the ability to process files quickly and get a job to the press. It is not uncommon for us to have a job ready to run before the customer has settled on a press count. The ability to turn work quickly is key to our success, and it is why customers keep coming back to us.

Who We Are

Ag Press is a full-service commercial printing company operating in a 40,000-square-foot plant. We have eight printing presses, a digital press, and an extensive bindery all housed under one roof – key ingredients for a sleek manufacturing process. Our experienced staff works with customers every step of the way, from creating innovative design concepts to printing to distributing each project in a timely and cost-efficient manner. We believe our customers come first, and we offer one-on-one attention for each project to ensure all of our clients are receiving the best service possible.

People are often surprised to learn that Ag Press has a customer base stretching from coast to coast. That customer base is a result of strong word-of-mouth recommendations, which have helped build our business over the decades.

Ag Press is all about long-term relationships. We spent our first 45 years in business without outside salesmen and relied solely on customer referrals and loyalty. However, in the past decade our staff has grown alongside our substantial increase in equipment and capacity.

This same philosophy carries over to our employees. 75% of our full-time employees have been with us for more than 10 years. How does that benefit customers? A veteran staff combined with long-term customers with long-term employees creates an environment where creative, quality, efficient projects are born.
